In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic had everyone staying home and staying safe, but we all needed some way to stay entertained and engaged with other people while still keeping a safe distance. Some people made sourdough bread. Others came up with ways to work virtually from home. We turned to producing videos.
We started our pandemic lockdown with making weekly cocktail videos for the bar and nightclub I owned at the time. During the summer of 2020, we went crab fishing, and we brought the cameras along.
Inspired by one of our favorite shows on Discovery, "Deadliest Catch", we decided to create our own show: Gayest Catch. Instead of 400 crab per pot on a 100 foot trawler in the Bering Sea, we are a gay couple on a 43 foot trawler in the Puget Sound... and we average 4 crab per pot!
